Patient Empowerment Program

For more than a decade, the sole focus of the US HAEA has been doing whatever is
humanly possible to help HAE patients live a normal, healthy and productive life.
We believe patients can be empowered to do so when provided with:

• Knowledge about HAE
• An understanding of available HAE therapies
• Information on how to form a partnership with their HAE physician
• Suggestions for making visits to their physician more productive
• Insight into a sometimes complex reimbursement system, so that cost is no longer a factor in deciding on an HAE therapy

For patients with a rare disease like HAE, education and empowerment can be determining factors
in receiving appropriate medical care in a timely fashion…or not. We are dedicated to doing everything possible
so that HAE patients are able to succeed with their own individualized, patient-centered treatment plan.
