Before requesting physician referral information for physicians who may only be able to prescribe pain medicines, androgens and hopefully maintain your airway should you have a laryngeal attack, please consider having your HAE attacks treated and resolved through participating in a Clinical Trial. There are currently five pharmaceutical companies conducting HAE clinical trials throughout the US. These clinical trials offer ongoing treatment after the first exposure to the medicine being tested. You may even qualify for Preventative Treatment. For patients who decide for what ever reason they do not wish to participate in a clinical trial, or for those who are needing assistance with a diagnosis, the HAE Association has developed "a Robust list of doctors across the Country who treat HAE Patients.
