HAEA advocating for new research

Imagine yourself sitting at a table made of rich deep hardwood. The walls of the room are paneled in a similarly impressive, stately fashion. You are surrounded by members of the press who will write about you, others who have been invited to speak along with you, and the row of Congressional leaders who will listen to you.

This was the scene when HAEA President, Anthony Castaldo, testified before the US Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Wednesday, June 6.

Tony’s testimony stressed the urgent need for research into the causes of all type of HAE and asked that HAE be included on a very small list of conditions that are eligible for medical research monies controlled by the US Department of Defense (DOD).

Opportunities like appearing before an influential congressional committee do not come along every day! The US HAEA works hard to garner every possible chance to advocate on behalf of the HAE community.
